The latest Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream draw occurred on August 22, 2024. This draw was designed to address the growing demand for skilled workers in various trades across the province.

Key Details of the Draw:

  • Number of Invitations: 1,287 candidates received invitations.
  • CRS Score Range: The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required was between 400 and 435.
  • Eligibility: Candidates were required to have active Express Entry profiles created between August 22, 2023, and August 22, 2024, and possess relevant work experience in targeted skilled trades.

The draw specifically targeted 46 National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes related to skilled trades. Some of these occupations include:

Contractors and Supervisors:

NOC 72010: Machining, metal forming, shaping, and erecting trades.

NOC 72011: Electrical trades and telecommunications occupations.

NOC 72012: Pipefitting trades.

NOC 72013: Carpentry trades.

NOC 72021: Heavy equipment operator crews.

Industrial and Construction Trades:

NOC 72201: Industrial electricians.

NOC 72300: Plumbers.

NOC 72310: Carpenters.

NOC 72400: Construction millwrights and industrial mechanics.

NOC 72402: Heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning mechanics.

Mechanics and Operators:

NOC 72404: Aircraft mechanics and inspectors.

NOC 73400: Heavy equipment operators.

NOC 73402: Drillers and blasters – surface mining, quarrying, and construction.

This draw was part of Ontario’s ongoing strategy to fill labor shortages by inviting skilled tradespeople to apply for permanent residence through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).
